John White Jr. enlisted in the US Navy on 8 Dec 1941 as an apprentice seaman. He served in Panama and Ecuador. He died on Easter Sunday in a jeep accident in the Philippines awaiting the arrival of his half-brother Fred Dunlap, who was also serving there, to join him for the day.
He was survived by his parents, three brothers, three sisters, two half-brothers, and four half-sisters.
