An obituary for Alice Bremer was carried in the Niles Daily Star on 06 Dec 1949 and it reads: "Rites Held Monday Galien, Dec 6-Funeral services were held Monday for Mrs. Alice Bremer, 85, of Galien, in the St. Agnes Catholic church of Sawyer. The Rev. Phillip Cook officiated, and burial was in Galien cemetery. Mrs. Bremer died at 2 a.m. Saturday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest James, of Galien, after an illness of several years. Mrs. Bremer was born Sept. 22, 1864, in Galien township, and lived in Galien all her life. On April 25, 1882, she married Robert Doyle, who died in 1929. She was married in 1930 to William Bremer, who died in 1933. Surviving are a son, R. E. Doyle, of New Carlisle, Ind.; Mrs. James; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Another son, Edward, died about 12 years ago. Mrs. Bremer was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church of Three Oaks, and of the Altar society of that church. The rosary was recited Sunday at the Kenney-Connelly funeral home."

Death records give father as Joseph Chevrie and mother as Amelia Mathews. Married 1st to Robert Doyle and 2nd on 19 Aug 1930 to William D. Bremer. Buried with 1st husband.
