The Hendricks County marriage records show Allen Hayden marrying Isabella (Belle) Leak on Sept. 20, 1856.

The 1860 Census shows Allen Hayden (age 24, born in Kentucky) with wife Isabel (age 23) and daughter Nancy (age 1) living in Union Township, Hendricks County, Indiana. Also in the household is Isabel's brother, David Leake (age 21).

The 1870 Census shows Allen Hayden (age 37, born in Kentucky) living in Union Township, Hendricks County, Indiana with wife Isabel (age 36) and children Nancy (age 10), Susan (age 9), Allen (age 7), Minnie (age 3) and Ora (age 5 months).

The 1880 Census shows Allen Hayden (age 47, born in Kentucky) living in Union Township with wife Isabelle (age 47) and children Nancy E. (age 20), Allen D. (age 15), Ora E. (age 12) and Della L. (age 7).

The Hendricks County WPA Death Index shows Isabell Hayden died on May 29, 1890. Most likely she was buried in the Vieley Cemetery but there are no records that she was buried there. An article in the Republican for June 12, 1890 states "Lizton - Belle, wife of Allen Hayden, died at her home in Lizton, May 29th, 1890, of cancer. Funeral services at the Christian church on the following day conducted by Elder U. C. Brewer. She leaves a husband and three children to mourn her loss."

The 1900 Census shows Allen as age 66 (born in Kentucky in Feb. 1834) living in Center Township, Hendricks County and widowed with Ora (no age), Della (age 27) and a grandchild, Effie Pace (age 15) who was the daughter of his daughter Nancy E. who died in 1892. Nancy Elizabeth (Hayden) Pace married William Ambrose Pace .

Note: Allen's daughter Della married Samuel M. Bowman on Nov. 18, 1912 in Hendricks County. The 1930 Census shows Della Bowman (age 58) living in Prairie Township, Howard County, Missouri with husband Samuel (age 78) and stepson Elmer (age 45). Della's Missouri death certificate shows her birth on August 13, 1872 and death on Oct. 23, 1930 in Armstrong, Howard County, Missouri.

Allen Hayden died at 12:30 today after a long illness. He was a member of the 99th regiment and his disability dated from his army life.
