Erica Elaine Arcemont-Lewis
1983 - 2011

Erica Elaine Arcemont-Lewis, 28, passed away Friday, July 22, 2011, at her home. She was born Jan. 7, 1983, in Morgan City, Louisiana.

Erica, as a young girl, moved to Montana, while still spending her summers in Louisiana with her dad and his family. She attended school in Darby, Montana, through her sophomore year. During her school years there, Erica was active in softball, volleyball and track. She completed her junior and senior years at Corvallis High School, graduating in 2001. She then attended massage therapy school in Lafayette, Louisiana, for one year before returning to Montana. Erica then adventured into back country camp cooking, working for Virgil and Barbara Burns, as well as Scott Bollinger, (hunting outfitters) in the Bob Marshall Wilderness and in the Bitterroot mountains. She loved horse packing into the back country and cooking in the serenity of nature without modern amenities.

In 2006, she turned to another challenge and became employed on the Stellar Sea, a seafood processing vessel, that was featured on the reality TV series "The Deadliest Catch." This journey would take her from Seattle through the Alaskan Passage to the Bering Sea, where they would meet the various fishing vessels to off-load their catch. She worked as recently as May on the vessel, which is now re-named the H.M. Thortenson. Erica was a dedicated employee for five seasons and enjoyed the company of her coworkers.

In October 2010, Erica enrolled in the Bitterroot School of Cosmetology where she learned that she had a natural talent for the art of cosmetology.

Above all things, Erica made sure to make time for her family and to care for her beloved animals. Over the last few years, barrel racing had become a part of her life with her horse, Hope, an activity she shared with her mother, Elaine, and her sister, Riley. She was creative in arts and crafts, and proud that she learned to knit from her Granny Anna during her summer vacations to Louisiana.

Erica is survived by her parents, Wade and Elaine Lewis (mother), of Hamilton, MT; and Edward and Theresa Arcemont (father) of Broussard, LA; brothers: Joseph Lewis, Michael and Angela Lewis, from Whidbey Island, WA; and Christopher Arcemont, from Broussard, LA; sister, Riley Lewis [passed away 29 Mar 2020] and partner Ben Leavell, of Hamilton, MT. She is also survived by her nephew, Colin Lewis Leavell and her dearest cousin, Amy Rivet, of Youngsville, LA. Erica had a very large, loving and caring family: grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins left behind, all of whom love her dearly.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton, Montana.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton with Pastor Kevin Horton officiating. Interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton. A reception will follow at 206 Westside Road, Hamilton.

Pallbearers are Edward Arcemont, Wade Lewis, Joseph Lewis, Michael Lewis, Christopher Arcemont and Ben Leavell.

Calm me O Lord as you stilled the storm,
Still me, O Lord, keep me from harm.
