Edwin L. Malone, 82, of Jamestown, died Sunday, July 25, 1998, at Russell County Hospital.

He was born in Jamestown on March 21, 1916 to W.S. Malone and Lillie Collins Malone, both of whom preceded him in death.

Mr. Malone is survived by his wife, Gertrude Helm Malone of Jamestown; three sons, Danny L. Malone of Louisville, Douglas Malone of Crestwood and Dale Malone of Russell Springs; and two daughters, Geraldine Cicchella of Shelbyville and Donna Kidd of Belton. Nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.

Other survivors include three brothers, Norman Malone of Jamestown, Teddy Malone of Liberty, and Weldon Malone of Noblesville, Indiana; and two sisters, Ruby Murray of Jamestown and Mary Blankenship of Columbus, Ohio.

He was employed by the Russell County Board of Education. He was also a member of the Bethel First Methodist Church in Jamestown.

Funeral services were Wednesday, July 29, at 10 a.m. at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel with Bro. Ted Burchett officiating.

Active pallbearers were Danny Helm, Jimmy Lawless, Vic Rogers, Larry Cundiff, Paul Helm, Jr. and Buford Knight.

Honorary pallbearers were Hollis Dehart, Jeff Aaron, Carson Antle and Sovel Stephens.

Interment in Bethel Cemetery in Jamestown.
