Revolutionary War, Pvt 3rd Class, Capt. Peter Roth's 4th Cmpy, 3rd Battalion, Northampton Co, PA Militia (According to the IN chapter of the NSSAR); This unit became the 4th Infantry Regiment of the Pennsylvania Line in 1776; SAR P-102974 as 'Andrew Allsman'; DAR A132856 as 'Andrew Altman'; Resided after the Revolution for a time in Jessamine County, KY, before moving to Sullivan County, IN after 1830.

Though the likely progenitor of all Alsmans & Allsmans in the U.S., and though many Alsmans and Allsmans were living close by, he was living with the family of James and Syntha A Mason in Sullivan County IN according to the census of 1850. Syntha (also Cinthia) was the daughter of Amos Sinclair & Agnes(s) Alsman McCrary Sinclair, Andrew's daughter.

"He was a man of remarkable physical strength, and made a full hand in the harvest field when over one hundred years old."

Wife's name believed to be Ann(e) Stallins whom he married Mar 2, 1774.

Upon the death of a son in KY some of those above, like Harrison (death cert lists parents as 'none') and the Andrew born in 1798, were raised by Andrew. Few of those above were born when Ann was in her prime child-bearing years, therefore this list is not conclusive.

***According the a "History of Jessamine County Kentucky", in 1796 'Henry Alsman' was recorded by Maj. Benjamin Netherland as a tennant of Mr Willoughby and as killing rattlesnakes. This is likely one of Andrew & Ann's sons and could be the father of children attributed to Andrew & Ann above.
