According to the the Christian County Genealogy Society office in Taylorville -
"Aaron Allsman was born in Kentucky, was married in 1815; moved to Indiana in 1830 and to Illinois in 1849. He settled on a farm in Section 24 of May Township, entering the land, April 10, 1850. He died in October, 1865,
surviving his wife three days. He was a man of wonderful strength, and when sixty-five, at the town of Assumption, he lifted with ease a barrel of molasses from the floor. Both he and his wife were members of the Methodist Church. There were fourteen children born to the union of Aaron and Elizabeth (Logue) Allsman", 12 of which are -
