He was born April 8, 1935 in Hippo, Kentucky, son of the late Sam and Laura ((Shepherd) Reed. He moved to Toledo in 1943, to Willard in 1945 and lived in Greenwich since 1963. He worked at the former C. E. Ward Co.in New London as a night watchman. He he also worked odd jobs locally and sold Mason Shoes.
Surviving are are his wife Patricia(Rhea) Reed, whom he married June 1, 1984, a son Norman Reed of Greenwich, a stepdaughter Jodi Ritchie of Mansfield, a brother Charles Reed of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, and 3 sisters Shirley Reed, Salyer of Willard, Edna Perkins of Greenwich of Greenwich, Lona Rivera of Delphi, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a sister Mirtie Perkins and four brothers, Ray, Woodrow ,Gene and Morton Reed.
Friends called after 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the Greenwich First Baptist Church. 96 Townsend St. Greenwich until time of Funeral service at 11:A.M. Tuesday. Pastor Gary Adkins officiated and burial followed at the Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Funeral Home for expenses. The Eastman Funeral Home Greenwich was in charge of arrangements.
