Died October 4, 2002. James Howard Baker, 73, of Huntsville died Friday at his residence in Huntsville. Mr. Baker was a former co-owner and retired from Baker Sand & Gravel. He served in the Army and was a veteran of World War II during which he served at the Pentagon. He was also a Mason. He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Baker; one son, Randy Baker (Martha Ann) of Huntsville; one sister, Nell Holbrook of Lexington, Ky.; two brothers, Robert Baker and Carl Baker, both of Huntsville; one step-daughter, Gloria F. Anderson (Bill) of Huntsville; one step-son, Joey Lee of Huntsville; two grandchildren, Carol Jo Patterson of Toney and Melisia Lea Anderson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and one great-grandchild, Cora Ann Patterson of Toney. He was preceded in death by his brother, Allen Baker. Funeral service will be held graveside at Baker Cemetery in Owens Cross Roads at 2 p.m. Sunday with Bro. Tommy Rosenblum officiating. Arrangements by New Hope Funeral Home.
