PLUNKETT - Saturday, Feb. 16,1895, at her home near Pleasant Plains, of nervous prostration, Mrs. Alice Plunkett, wife of James H. Plunkett, aged 40 years.
She was born in 1855 in Pleasant Plain and resided there until she was married to James H. Plunkett in 1877, when they moved to his farm, three miles cast of there, where they have since resided.
She united with the Baptist church ten years ago, and has lived a consistent Christian life. She died after six months of severe suffering. She leaves to mourning her loss, besides her husband, a mother, Mrs. Catherine Rawls, three brothers, Newton, Nathan and Thomas Rawls, and three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Cox and Miss Jessie Rawls, of Los Angeles, Cal., and Miss Annie Rawls, still living at home. The family has the deepest sympathy of the community.
The funeral took place at the Baptist church in Pleasant Plains Tuesday. The house was over tilled, many being turned away. The Rev. A. P. Curry, of Petersburg, assisted by the Rev. M. B. McFadden, officiated.
