Newton B Eagan funeral will be held from the residence Thursday, July 7, at 9 am. Burial at South Vienna Cemetery.

Newton B Eagan was the husband of Sarah Wilmoth Jones Eagan whom he married May 1861 in Boone County, Missouri. He was a carpenter by trade, born in Wilson Co, Tennessee or Marion Co, Illinois, both have been seen recorded; he was the son of Barnabas "Barnaby" Eagan and Debora Whitson.
Newton B and Sarah Jones Eagan were the parents of 9 known children, two died at birth. The remaining children are Elizabeth, Anna, Ella, Owen, Lida, William, Fred.
*On Newton's death certificate, his daughter, Lida, states he was born in Montana, and lists parents as Henry and Elizabeth Eagan. It is widely agreed by our Eagan family that this information is incorrect.
*Tombstone has birth year as 1838, death cert has it as 1837.
