She lived in the Mt. Sterling and Keosauqua communities doing home care and house work. In 1978, she moved to the Van Buren County Care Facility where she lived until 1991 when she moved into the Donnellson Care Center. In 1992, she became a resident of the Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.
She was a 50 year member of the United Methodist Church in Mt. Sterling.
She is survived by a half-sister, Nora Zollars; a niece who took care of her, Ellen Kreiss; two nephews, Charles and Jim Brewer; a step-nephew, Wayne Zollars; and a close friend, Lawrence Lingenfelter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Johnnie and a step-brother, Walter.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 17 at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. Reverend S. Gale Hawhee officiated. Private burial was in Harness Cemetery, Mt. Sterling.
A memorial fund has been established and gifts may be left at the funeral home.
