He was the son of Albert and Clara Brewer. He was united in marriage to Della Henderson November 5, 1905 and to this union two children were born who survive namely, Walter of Donnellson, Iowa and Nora Zollars of Mt. Sterling, Iowa. She preceded him in death.
He was again married to Mabel Pearl Poling December 2, 1916 and to this union two children were born who survive, namely, Johnnie Jr. of Cantril, Iowa and Mae at home. She preceded him in death December 29, 1937.
He is also survived by one grandson, Wayne Zollars, his mother of Keokuk, Iowa and 9 brothers and sisters, namely, Rilla and Julia of Los Angeles, California, Addie and Chelmar of Omaha, Nebraska, Charlie of Blandinsville, Illinois, Issac of Biggsville, Illinois, Jim of Mason City, Iowa, Kirby of Galesburg, Illinois, and C.W. of Milton. He was also preceded in death by his father and 2 sisters.
He was a kind, loving father, and will be fondly remembered by relatives, friends and neighbors as one who was always willing to help in time of need.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the Mt. Sterling Methodist Church. Rev. A.M. Hadley officiating. Burial was in the Harness Cemetery near Mt. Sterling.
