Born at Ashland on March 17, 1894, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Head.
A farmer, he lived in the Stockbridge area the past 64 years.
He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Parish, its Holy Name Society, American Legion, VFW and Veterans of World War I. He was a member of the Wisconsin 32nd (Red Arrow) Division during the first world war.
Survivors include his wife, Rose; two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Etta) Schumacher of Neenah, and Mrs. Ernest (Myrtle) Ortlieb of Menomonee Falls; one son, Kenneth, Stockbridge; one brother, Orville, Stockbridge and 10 grandchildren.
The requiem Mass was at St. Marys Church, Stockbridge, with Rev. William Willinger, pastor, celebrant. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Military rites were conducted by Stockbridge VFW and Legion Posts.
