Loretta R. Kaminski, 84, 7595 Merryland Drive, Rosholt, a former owner of the Merryland Ballroom in the town of Sharon, died at her home Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, with the Rev. Steve Kachel officiating. Her body will be cremated. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

The Rosary Society will pray the rosary at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

A memorial will be established in her name at a later date in lieu of flowers.

Jensen Funeral Home in Plover is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Kaminski was born April 25, 1919, in Polonia, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Zynda. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School.

She was married to Edwin N. Kaminski on May 10, 1941.

After living in Chicago and Milwaukee, they owned and operated Merryland Ballroom in the Rosholt area from 1951 to 1973.

She was also employed as a nurse's aide at the Portage County Health Care Center and St. Joseph's Congregational Home.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Diane (Ronald) Engelbert, Appleton; five sons, Edwin Jr. (Christine), Michael (Joan), Norman (Malinda) and Kenneth (Rene), all of Rosholt, and Alan, Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Esther Stroik, Stevens Point, Sophie Stanislawski, Menasha, and Geraldine Yenter, Milwaukee; two brothers, Chester Zinda, Madison, and Clarence Zinda, Rosholt; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
