Leita A. Wolf, 95, of Freeport passed away Sunday afternoon, Nov. 5, 2006, at Provena St. Joseph Center in Freeport. She was born May 27, 1911, in Preston, Minn., the daughter of Frank and Gladys (Flory) Brown. On Feb. 14, 1932, she married Paul Wolf in Freeport. He preceded her in death May 5, 1991. She was a 1928 graduate of Freeport High School. Leita was a member of the Freeport Mennonite Church, where she served on many committees and service activities.
Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis (Norman) Weisel of Freeport, Nola (Ernest) Miller of Elgin and Judith (Edward) Busjahn of rural Freeport; seven grandchildren, Walden Remmers of Freeport, Yvette (Gregg) Afflerbaugh of Davis, Tim Miller of Elgin, Lorna (Randy) Schindler of Orangeville, April (Paul) Haeflinger of Winnebago, Debra (Robert) LaFurge of Byron and Joel Miller of Mount Prospect. There are also 12 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Wanda Brown of Mountain Home, Ark.; a niece and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; a son-in-law, Roger Remmers; a granddaughter-in-law, Janette Miller; a sister and three brothers.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Freeport Mennonite Church, 3416 E. Brick School Road, Freeport. The Rev. David Schrader, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 115 S. West St., Dakota, and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service at the church. A memorial fund is being established in her name by the family.
