SR FRANCIS INEZ GRABBE
CONCORDIA - The funeral for Sister Mary Francis Inez Grabbe, 79, a retired member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia, was Saturday morning, the Rev. Henry Kieffer officiating. Sister Francis Inez died Thursday at the Nazareth Motherhouse, Concordia, where she had been retired since 1973.
She was born Dec. 4, 1902, at Munjor and joined the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1923. She filled various assignments, including two tours at the Bishop's House in Salina. She also was a housekeeper for the Sisters at Park, Clyde, Herrington and Beloit, and spent 15 years working in the sewing room at the Motherhouse.
Surviving are two sisters, Sister Seraphine, Great Bend, and Mrs. Albertine Kinderknecht, Hays, and four brothers, Adolph, Matt and Elmer, all of Hays, and Edward, Hill City.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery at the Motherhouse.
