Unidentified Newsclipping - 1895
ROSEMOND.--Edward Rosemond died at his home in New Philadelphia, Ohio, July 16, 1895, aged seventy-five. He was vigorous up to a year ago, when Bright's disease developed. He was born in Leitrim County, Ireland, and came with his father's family to America in July, 1841. Three weeks after arriving his father died, leaving him almost alone in the New World. In 1850 he married Miss Nancy Ripley. To them three daughters were born. His wife and two daughters, Mrs. W. C. Browne and Mrs. W. H. Miller, survive him. Brother Rosemond was a careful and capable business man, an excellent citizen, a polite and genial gentleman, a kind husband, and an indulgent father. For fifty years he was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and contributed liberally to its support, much of the time filling faithfully the offices of Sunday school superintendent, steward, and trustee. The Bible was his study; from it and other good books he stored up treasures of knowledge. His utterances in his dying hours manifested strong faith in Jesus. He is at rest.
