He was the son of Charles G. and Narcissa W. (Eudaly) Featherston. He was born either in Hamilton Co. or Marion Co. He married Mary Jane Starkey Aug. 11, 1881 in Marion Co. He was the father of nine children (maybe more): Lula C. Pinkerton, Irene M., infant son, Vester, Esther Treser, Malissa E. Goodplaster, Wallace E., Mamie Cummings and Wilford C. In 1900 he resided in Pike Twp., Marion Co. Judging by the neighbors names, he likely lived near Traders Point.

By 1910 the family had moved to Harrison Twp., Owen Co. He was a farmer and likely moved to Owen Co. to have a bigger farm as farmland in Marion Co. was disappearing.
