Rites Today For Lawyer


Services were to be at 3 p.m. today in the Paramount Baptist Church for Ronnie Posey, 34, of 1412 Hayden, who died Sunday.


The Rev. Jack Parker, minister of education, was to officiate. Burial was to be in the Claude Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors.


Mr. Posey was a native of Claude. He graduated from Claude High School in 1959. He attended Amarillo College, Kilgore College and graduated from West Texas State University.


He earned a law degree from the Baylor University School of Law.


He practiced law in Longview two years before coming to Amarillo in 1971 to enter private practice. He was a partner in the firm of Posey Leach & Associate.


He served as Dallam County attorney temporarily in1975.


He was the past-president of the Golden Spread ABC Club and was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta and the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternities.


Survivors include his widow: Tommie, one son, Raymond Brence and two daughters, Rhona Kay and Cheryl Lee, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.T. Posey of Claude; two brothers, Carroll and Bob, both of Amarillo, one sister, Mrs. Norma Brown of Deer Park.


The family will be in 3701 Patterson.
