Larry James Martin, age 78, of Holland, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus.
Larry was born in Holland and graduated from Holland High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Larry worked for the Holland BPW for 28 years. In the early 1980's, Larry and Marcia moved to Florida where Larry eventually retired. Larry and Marcia moved back Holland due to health reasons in the early 2000's.
Larry was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Martin; and also by a son-in-law, Joe Puente Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marcia Kraai Martin; children, Dawne Puente of West Olive, Kellie and Steve Rhoda of Holland, Michael and Rhonda Martin of Holland; five grandchildren, Cassie and Dan Cushway, Kristen Smith, Aaron Rhoda, Jeremy Martin, Joshua Martin; six great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Robert and Ruth Kraai of Zeeland, Tom Kraai of Fennville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland.
