Obit- Elizabeth Amelia Wilkens was born on August 15, 1897 in Anthony township, Norman Co., MN and died (age 83) on December 25, 1980 (Christmas Day) in Ada, Norman Co., MN at the Wimmer Nursing Home. She married Frank Malakowski on April 15, 1915 in the Pleasant View Lutheran Church in Norman Co. MN. Frank was born on October 17, 1886 in Lockhart, Norman Co., Minnesota and died (age 69) on February 22, 1956 from a heart problem. Frank's parents were Henry Malakowski and Fredricka Gauger of Lockhart. They are buried in the Ada, MN Cemetery. Frank and Elizabeth had five children. - Norman County Index, Ada

After Frank died, she stayed on the farm. She was active in the Methodist Church in Ada and the Ladies Aide . She started to spend the winter months with Laura and Margie's families. She later started to do live-in-housekeeping for people in Ada.

After she had multiple strokes and was not able to care for herself, she spent the next 15 years in the Ada Wimmer Nursing Home. When she died she had six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. I remember that she taught me (Lila) how to do embroidery and how to knit. When she was on the farm she had so many flowers indoors and outdoors. I remember that when they took care of the grandchildren they would revert to speaking German so we did not know what they were saying. - Lila Hegrenes
