After Long Illness
Mrs. Katherine Staub, mother of
J. A. Staub of this city, died at the
home of her son, 441 Third street
south, at noon today after a lingering
illness.
Funeral services will be held from
the home at 2:30 o'clock Thursday
afternoon with the Rev. J. M. Stevens
officiating. Interment will be
made in Forest Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Staub was born at Du Quoin,
Illinois, on June 6, 1858, and was 70
years old at the time of her death.
She was one of the organizing
members of the Joel Pace Chapter
of D. A. R. at Mount Vernon, Il-
linois, where she resided before com-
ing to this city to live with her son
11 years ago.
Mrs. Staub was stricken by the
fatal illness in February of this year
and was forced to remain in bed un-
til her death this noon.
