Joyce is buried near her grandparents, John Larson and Elizabeth Nielsdatter Jacobsen Meek. (Plot: Ridgelawn 115) Joyce died at age 20. Her brother was Brigadier General George "Bud" Day. Bud was in the Hanoi Hilton with John McCain. Through the efforts of Senator McCain, Bud was posthumously promoted to the rank of brigadier general in June 2018.
