Patricia A. Stennes, 68, of Rushford, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at Gundersen – Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wis.
Pat was born Jan. 6, 1944, in Rushford, to Henry and Clarice (Haugen) Tudahl. She was raised in Rushford and attended Rushford Schools. On June 22, 1963, she married Mervin Stennes at Rushford Lutheran Church, where Pat was a lifetime member. She worked for TRW in Rushford for 30 years, retiring in 2000.
Pat enjoyed embroidery, sewing, flower gardening, crossword puzzles, studying the genealogy of her family and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She was recently in the process of putting a family cookbook together.
Pat is survived by her husband, Merv; two sons, Dean (Dawn) Stennes of Mabel and Robert (Julie Barry) Stennes of Rushford; two daughters, Deanna Stennes and Melessa Stennes, both of Rushford: three grandchildren, Taylor, Jacob and Emily; one step-granddaugher, Julie Ideker; one step-great-grandson, Brandon Burkhalter; and five siblings, Bev Hallum of Rushford, Becky (Alan) Hanson of Rushford, Jann (Ken) Gaustad of La Crescent, Minn., Curtis (Audrey) Tudahl of Rushford and Milton (Leslie) Tudahl of Thompson Station, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Bettie Wolfe, Liz Tudahl, Dolores Zitzman and Cheryl Tudahl.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Rushford Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will be in the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
