Alice Janet Schoenberger, 70, Oakley, died on Monday, July 10, 2006 at her home in Oakley.

Alice was born on November 6, 1935 in Grinnell to Roy E. Albertson and Alice Adda Sidles Albertson. She was a lifetime area resident of the Grinnell and Oakley area.

Alice was retired. She had been a para-professional teacher at USD 274 Oakley-Monument in Oakley.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joseph's Altar Society of Oakley, Oakley V.F.W. Post #2981 Ladies Auxiliary, Oakley Eagles Lodge 4041 Ladies Auxiliary, and a longtime member of Oakley Bowling Association.

Alice married Alvin "Al" Schoenberger on November 16, 1957 in Grinnell.

Survivors include a son, Richard Schoenberger and wife, Jennie, of Oakley; daughters, Sandra Swob and husband, Greg, of Colby, Sherrie Mackley and husband Jeff, of Winona; two sisters, Marjorie Ottken of Topeka and Doris Campbell of Pueblo West, CO; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Those preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Al (1990); brothers, Robert Neil, Donald, and Johnnie Albertson; sisters, Lois Valdez, Eunice Launders, and Myrna Uhruh.

Funeral service was on Friday, July 14, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Oakley, with Fr. Michael Elan, CMI.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Church and Susan B. Komen Cancer Foundation.
