The Youngstown Vindicator Memorial Obituary:

SEVILLE – Janice C. Briggs, 84, passed into real life and had a grand reunion in her heavenly home with her husband, daughter, grandsons, parents and brother on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012. She was surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter in Canfield.

She was born March 30, 1927, in Seville, the daughter of the late John and Leona Harry.

She was a graduate of Wadsworth High School in 1945.

Janice married Robert Briggs on Oct. 24, 1947. He preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 2001.

Janice resided in Canfield for the past six months, but she had been a resident of Seville for most of her life and her love for Seville never failed. She was a faithful member of the Seville United Methodist Church and lived her life serving others. She was the best mom, grandma and great-grandma ever and she will be greatly missed.

Her spirit lives on in her daughters, Cathy (Harry) Kimes of Homeworth, Wendy (Steve) Avery of Canfield and Jill (Jeff) DeHaan of Wooster; sons Robert of Reno, Nev., Chris (Janet) of Doylestown and Jon of Orrville; grandchildren, Hilary (Aaron) Bernstein, Chad Kimes, Josh (Kelsey) Avery, Alisha (Jay) Brownlee, Anthony Burkett, Jake DeHaan, Jeremy and Emily Briggs; and great-grandchildren, Ezra and Eloise Bernstein.

In addition to her husband and parents, Janice was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Burkett; grandsons, Mike Burkett and Nick Avery; and her brother, O'Neil.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 6 p.m on Sunday, Jan. 29, at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St. in Lodi.

Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Seville United Methodist Church, 74 W. Main St. in Seville. Rev. Gary Koerth will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Seville.
