Keener Rites Will Be Held On Thursday. Dominion News. Morgantown, WV. Wed., Mar. 28, 1924, pg. 8
Excerpt -- The funeral of John F. Keener, 66, prominent resident of Westover and brother of County Commissioner W. W. Keener, Park street, will be conducted in the residence on Holland avenue at 2 p.m. tomorrow by the Rev. Julius Fischbach. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Ill with asthma for some time, but in critical condition only a few hours, Mr. Keener died early yesterday afternoon at his home. His brother living here and other members were at the bedside when the end came.
A son of Joseph P. and Nancy Kincaid Keener, both deceased, Mr. Keener was born in this County on Mar. 5, 1868. He was interested in real estate, livestock, lumber, coal, and other industrial developments. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Isa Holland Keener, one son, Paul H. Keener, Elkins; three brothers, W. W. Keener, Morgantown, Joseph L. Keener, Pittsburgh, and Grover P. Keener, a resident of Tennessee; one sister, Mrs. Myrna Gans, Morgantown; one granddaughter, Barbara Keener, Elkins, The body will be in state at the residence until the hour of the funeral.
