His father Franklin Pierce Simmons, who was known by his middle name Pierce, died in 1897 the same year young Pierce was born. His mother Lucy Ardella ( Della) married John Jordan and they raised him in the Heber and Duschene area of Utah.
Pierce Simmons is preceded in death by his father and mother and by his siblings Alphonso Simmons, Willis Simmons, Nellie Rayner Simmons and Robert Harrison Simmons. He is survived by his wife Louise E. Perrier Simmons and by his siblings Annie Simmons Sulser, William Franklin Simmons, Florence Edna Simmons Toney, Albert Foster Simmons, and by Nymphas Nephi Simmons.

In 1920 census he was single living with mother Ardella McPeak Simmons Jordan in Heber City, Utah. Ardella and John Jordan by then were divorced.
In 1920 thru 1930 he lived in Sweetwater County and Hawthorne, Mineral county, Nevada.
He served as a Sheriff Deputy for 18 years.
In 1935 he was living in Hawthorne, Mineral Nevada B street
In the 1940 census he was living in Hawthorne, Mineral, Nevada on B Street with wife Louise E. Perrier born Minnesota.
He worked for Hawthorne, Nevada Water system and the US Naval ammunition depot.
In 1944 he and his wife were NOT listed as registered voters in The Mineral County, General Election.
He moved to Sparks, Washoe, Nevada in 1944-1946
Mrs Merlin Cluff (Darl Lucinda Sulser Cluff) written in newspaper article is not his sister. but his niece, the daughter of his sister Annie Leona Simmons Sulser.
He was a member of the V.F.W. And the American Legion.
