Accident Injury Proves Fatal to Charles Adams
Charles O. Adams, 57, died at Bellevue hospital at 8:30 p. m., Thursday as the result of injuries suffered early Thursday morning in an automobile accident on highway No. 61 just west of Muscatine. Mr. Adams was struck by a car driven by James Abplanalp, 80 West Front street. Mr. Adams resided on highway, No. 61. just west of Muscatine. He suffered severe head and chest injuries when struck by the Abplanalp car as he was unhooking a tow chain from a car owned by Ed Hank which he had been pulling. Coroner C. P. Phillips and Sheriff Fred B. K. Tesper conducted an inquiry into the fatal accident Thursday night and the coroner decided that an inquest would not be necessary.
Mr. Adams was born on Jan. 26, 1887, in Louisa, county but had been a resident of this community for the past nine years. He married Miss Clara Diehl at Warsaw, Ill. He was a member of the Eagles lodge and was a button cutter by profession.
Surviving are his wife, at Warsaw, Ill.; three brothers, William Adams, Fredonia, Roy Adams, and Frank Adams, both of Muscatine: four, sisters, Mrs. John Tucker, Birmingham, la., Mrs. John Kramer, Antigo, Wis., Mrs. Adam Beckey, Muscatine, and Mrs. Herb Crull, Columbus Junction. One sister, one brother and his parents preceded him in death. The body is at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral home where it will remain for services to he conducted at 2 p. m., Sunday. Interment will be in the Indian Creek cemetery.

Last rites for Charles O. Adams, who died Thursday at Bellevue hospital, were held at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Ralph J Wittich Funeral home with the Rev. M. Hancock of the Assembly of God church in charge. Mrs. George Holliday was organist. Bearers were Harry Hern Boyd Holliday, Joe Syphrit, Free Silberhorn, Ed Rohde and Earl Bidiwell.
The floral committee was Mrs. Bernice Ahlf and Mrs Elmer Trader.
Interment was in Indian Creek cemetery.
