He was the son of the late Arthur and Lucy (Sandefur) Brooks, and has been a farmer all his life. He was a lifetime member of Red Hill Chapel Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for over 40 years, served as clerk for several years, and was an ordained deacon since 1972.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his: first wife: Ruby (Wolfenbarger) Brooks; sisters, Edith Brooks and Edna Brooks Hamilton; and twin infant brothers
Burial in the Red Hill Chapel Cemetery.
