Jennifer was the daughter of Tim and Kathy Fettig. She graduated from Petoskey High School in 1995, and then worked at the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce as a parking enforcement officer. She wanted to be a full-fledged police officer, and joined the Detroit Police Department in 2001. She loved her job, and had recently become engaged to another Detroit officer. She was the 19th Detroit police officer to die while in the line of duty since 1990.
