Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Luxemburg, with burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m.
He was born on Aug. 25, 1926, in Luxemburg, son of Nicholas and Veronica (Steffen) Hoffman. He married Virginette C. Wulfekuhle on Sept. 30, 1950, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Petersburg. They farmed in the Luxemburg area until their retirement in 1988.
Albin loved his family, working with wood and being in the outdoors.
Surviving are his wife, Virginette; two daughters, Dianne (Tom) Friedmann, of Luxemburg, and Cheryl Hoffman, of Macomb, Ill.; four sons, Bruce (Connie) Hoffman, of Luxemburg, David (Barbie) Hoffman, of Colesburg, Robert Hoffman, of Milwaukee, Wis., and Brad Hoffman, of Dyersville; two sisters, Louise Schmal, of Dyersville, and Armella Steffen, of Dubuque; and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gilbert, Clarence and Lawrence Hoffman; and two brothers-in-law, Ray Schmal and George Steffen.
