Armella A. Steffen, 95, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of Windsor Park, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, at Stonehill Care Center.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where friends may call from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 2659 Kennedy Road, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on March 21, 1914, in Luxemburg, Iowa, daughter of Nick and Veronica Hoffmann. She married George H. Steffen on Jan. 30, 1940, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg; he preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1982.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Parish.

Surviving are her sister, Louise Schmal, of Guttenburg, Iowa; and nieces, nephews and friends.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Gilbert, Clarence, Lawrence and Albin Hoffmann.
