Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Hemingway. Burial, with full Masonic Rites will be in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery.
Mr. Rogers was born in Dillon County, a son of the late S.G. Rogers and the late Eva Scott Rogers. He was a retired truck driver for SoCar in Florence, a member of the Hemingway First Baptist Church, Indiantown Masonic Lodge No.165 and attended Dillon and Hemingway schools.
Surviving are: his wife, Reba Tompkins Rogers of the home; children, Cynthia (Shann) Tanner and Stephen Rogers Jr., both of Hemingway; grandchildren, Robert Lawimore and Elizabeth Lawimore, both of Johnsonville; brothers, Jeffrey Rogers of Georgetown, Ray Rogers of Darlington, Terry Rogers of Summerton, Sammy Rogers of Florence, David Rogers and Ted Rogers, both of Hemingway; sisters, Glenda Ray of Andrews, Linda R. Tanner of Johnsonville, and Vicky R. Altman of Georgetown.
Mr. Rogers was predeceased by a brother, Tony Rogers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
