NEWTON — Beverly J. Blosser, 85, died on Monday (Jan. 23, 2012) at her Newton residence.
She was born on Jan. 16, 1927, in San Bernardino, Calif., to Virgil and Alice Mattox Brumback. On Sept. 1, 1947, she married Howard "Skeeter" Blosser in Newton. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 1991.
Beverly enjoyed spending time reading and helping out her neighbors. She also enjoyed living on the Asbury Park Campus and the friends she made. She greatly looked forward to spending time with her loving family and grandchildren. Beverly also had a great love for animals, especially dogs.
Beverly is survived by her sons, Neal and Connie Blosser of Newton and Ted and Shelly Blosser of Wichita. She also is survived by three grandchildren, Tyler and Danielle Blosser of Wichita, Katelynn Blosser of Lawrence and Kirstin Blosser of Wichita.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one brother, Neal Brumback.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
Memorials may be left with Caring Hands Humane Society or Asbury Park, in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
