The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2010, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. John Robert Skeldon, pastor, celebrant. Rite of committal will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
A son of the late Ambrosio and Margaret (Lopez) Chapa, he was born August 19, 1940, in Wichita Falls. On August 1, 1959, he married Cruz Olivas. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his stepmom, Socorro Chapa; and greatgrandson, John, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Cruz Chapa; daughters, Martha Ann Rodriguez and Ida Luz Duncan; son, Albert Chapa; brothers, Raymond Chapa, Freddie Chapa and Roger Chapa; sisters, Mary Louise Nino, Tillie Chapa and Geneva Branham; ten grandchildren, Johnny, Chastity, Carrie, Gene, Stephanie, Ricky, Krystal, Brice, Neal and Jared; fifteen greatgrandchildren.
The Christian Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday, November 14, 2010, at the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls with Deacon Anastasio Perez officiating.
