Among the oldest and perhaps the oldest settler in this county now living is Mr. George Scott of Port Fulton. Born in Bourbon County, Kentucky he came to Indiana in the spring of 1801 with is parents, the parties landed at Utica where the old gent has since lived with the exception of two years spent in Scott County and the past year, since his wife died, he spent at the home of his daughters, Mrs. Robert Nixon, Mrs. William Brown, Mrs. Peter Dustin and a son in Kentucky. He is an uncle of Mrs. John Chrisman. The old gent still well preserved physically and intellectually.

ANOTHER PIONEER DEAD
The venerable George Scott of Port Fulton died at 11 o'clock last night. If he had been spared until the fourth of March he would have held a reunion of his family and celebrated his 90th birthday, but age and his infirmities would not permit and he passed away into a peaceful sleep. Three daughters and one son survive him. The son James Scott (wife Sarah James) who resides in Kentucky arrived last night. The daughters are Mrs. Robert (Lucinda) Nixon, Mrs. Peter (Mary Ellen) Dustin and Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Brown all of whom reside in this city. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon and the remains taken to New Chapel for interment.
