Jimmie Curtis Bennett, 70, of Grenada, died Friday, July 1, at his home. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday, July 4, at National Funeral Home. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 4, at the National Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fletcher Moorman officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grenada.
Jimmie was born on Dec. 3, 1940, in Attala County to Elmer M. and Frances Wardean Yates Bennett. He was a Baptist. Jimmie was retired from Heatcraft.
Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Frances Bennett; by three brothers, Richard Bennett, Elmer Bennett and Alex Bennett; and by one granddaughter, Virginia Lynn Bennett.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Bennett of Grenada; one daughter, Patty Harrell of Grenada; one son, Tim Bennett of Grenada; one step-son, Michael Jones of Grenada; one sister, Patsy Perry of Holcomb; one brother, Larry Bennett of Olive Branch; and three grandchildren, Trevor Bennett of Tillatoba, and Megan and Jordan Harrell, both of Grenada.
National Funeral Home was in charge.
