My Maternal Great-Grandfather Luigi Serra died on Friday, December 23, 1960. He was a retired Coal Miner and had been burned in 1921, in a gas explosion.He married Concetta Merenda in Italy, in 1909. In 1909, he moved to Kansas, to work in the Coal Mines of Southeastern Kansas. He and my Great-Grandmother had 9 children and 8 survived. My infant Great- Uncle Leo, the first son to be named Leo, died in 1916. They later had another son named Leo Serra again.He is survived by many grandchildren and Great and Great-Great- Grandchildren over the years.
