Mrs. Mary Caroline Cease passed away at her home north of Harbor Springs, Saturday, at the age of sixty two years. Mrs. Cease was born in Cornwall, Tioga county, Pennsylvania, May9, 1858. She was married to Sidney T Cease September 15, 1875, coming to this section of Michigan with her husband. Eight children were born to this union, five of whom are living, Herman T. Cease, Rhinelander, Wis., Fred Cease, Carl Cease and Mrs. Will (Mildred) Boettger, of Emmet county; Mrs. David (Julia) Walsh,
Of Windsor, Ont., Earl, Helen and Myrtle.
She settled in Emmet county Thirty seven years ago, so was an old pioneer. She died after nearly a year's illness of cancer of the liver at her home at this place August 8, 1920 aged sixty two.
The funeral was held August 10 from the M.E. church of Stutsmanville, Rev. L.T. Robinson of Harbor Springs, officiated and burial was in Lakeview cemetery, at Harbor Springs, beside her husband who died March 9, 1914.
Pall-bearers were Homer Perry, W.E. Cooper, E.L. Walsheimer, Elmer Brown, Jas Rariel and E. Warful.
Thus another respected and loved pioneer has passed on to the great beyond.
