Louisa Leavitt Mangum Smith

Early Life: Louisa was born August 4, 1853, in Tooele, Utah, a daughter of Jeremiah and Eliza Harrover Leavitt. When she was child, her parents were sent to help settle Dixie country (the area of Washington County, Utah) and she spent her girlhood there.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: She was married to Heber Mangum August 27, 1871, in the Salt Lake Endowment House. They moved to Clover Valley, Nevada, in 1880, to Silver Reef, Utah, and in 1889, to Eureka, Utah, where they resided until 1906, when they moved to Provo. Heber died in 1907; she married Joseph Van Wagoner Smith on August 1, 1912. He died in June 28, 1922. Louisa Leavitt Mangum Smith passed from this life Saturday night, May 8, 1943, at the home of her daughter, Elodia Roberts, in American Fork, Utah, of causes incident to age. She was 89.
Survived By: Sons and daughters: Ernest James Mangum, of Los Angeles, CA; Wilford Woodruff Mangum, of San Gabriel, CA; Lillie Priscilla Heymanson (Virgil), of Salt Lake City, UT; Eliza Eleanora Ashworth (Ray), of Provo, UT; Elodia Jane Roberts (William), of American Fork, UT; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and a brother, Josiah Leavitt, of St. George.
