Kenneth was the son of Thomas Glass and Bertha Mae Boyd. Born in Fort Worth, according to the 1930 US Federal Census his family lived on Littlejohn Street in Fort Worth. Kenneth was 10 at that time and his older brother LeRoy was 13. Also in the home in 1930 was a younger brother, Harold, who was 4. He attended Polytechnic High School located on the Eastside of Fort Worth

Kenneth registered for the draft in Fort Worth in June 1941. At that time, he listed his occupation as an elevator operator. He enlisted in the Army Air Force
3 April 1942 and was honorably discharged 24 November 1945

He married Myrtle M Hall about 1980
