Lanie Taylor Hickox, 97 (b. 22 Jun 1904), of Brunswick, died Monday May 6, (2002) at Satilla Regional Medical Center of Waycross.

A native of Charlton County and former resident of Hoboken, she had been a resident of Brunswick for the past year. She was a member of Smyrna Primitive Baptist Church and the daughter of the late Irwin and Fronie Wainright Taylor.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, and spouses, Grace Johnson, with whom she resided, Blanch and Jim Garrison, all of Brunswick, Bonnie Norman and Vernell Barberree of Hoboken, Mildred and Carroll Smith of Twin City, Mary Nicholson of Americus, and Betty Jean and Bobby Dryen of Minnesota, David and Ann Taylor, Larry and Liz Taylor, Gene and Linda Taylor, all of Brunswick, Albert and Shirley Taylor of Twin City, Tim Moreland, Joseph Moreland, Leonard Moreland and Leilen Moreland, all of California, and sons and daughters of the late George "Dick" Taylor;and many great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 9, in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold McDonald officiating.

Interment followed in the Smyrna Cemetery near Lulaton.

Pallbearers were Larry Taylor, Albert Taylor, David Taylor, Gene Taylor, Joey Taylor, Carrol Smith, Danny Barberree and Jason Copeland. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Clay Lee and Staff, Dr. C. Ononye, Dr. Fernandez, Medical Staff of M-2A of Satilla Regional Medical Center, Becky Harris and Leanne Bruce and the staff of Charlton Visiting Nurses.
