Thelma L. Meck Amey, 85, formerly of Highspire, passed away Monday, April 21, 2003, in the Frey Village Nursing Home, Middletown.
She was the widow of Charles W. Fickes and Donald J. Amey. She attended Grace United Methodist Church of Enola.
Surviving are her daughter, Shirley K. Varner of Middletown; six sons, Charles W. Fickes of Camp Hill, Russell C. Fickes of Etters, Richard A. Fickes of Harrisburg, Kenneth L. Fickes of York Haven, John W. Fickes of Mechanicsburg and Edward P. Fickes of Highspire; four brothers, R. Leroy Meck and Robert A. Meck, both of Mechanicsburg, Russell C. Meck andMiles M. Meck, both of Enola; 27 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and a great-great- grandson.
Services will be held Thursday, April 24, at 1 p.m., in the Neumyer Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will be held in the Slate Hill Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. Viewing will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, in the funeral home.

Donald J. Amey, 52, of 29 N. Front St., Steelton, died Sunday in Dauphin Manor.
He was employed by the state Liquor Control Board and was an Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Thelma L. Meck Amey; three sisters, Betty Galandio of Salamanca, N.Y., Donna Asbrook of St. Charles, Mo., and Linda Tharp of Binghamton, N.Y.; and nephews and nieces.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Neumyer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
