Russell C. (Buck) Meck, of Enola, passed away at the Church of God Home, in Carlisle.
He was born in Enola the son of the late Walter and Thelma (Barnhart) Meck. He was married for 50 years to Anna (Blust) Meck, who passed away in August 1991, after a long illness. Russell lovingly cared for her at home.
Russell retired from Hempt Brothers, as Superintendent of the concrete plant, after 39 years employment. He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Enola. Russell was also a 32nd Degree Mason in the Eureka Lodge of Mechanicsburg and a Life Member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, country music, and was always helping friends and relatives with projects.
He was Port Battalion Sergeant in World War II of the first troop landing in Iran on November 1942.
He is survived by three brothers, Richard Leroy Meck and Robert A. Meck of Mechanicsburg, and Miles M. Meck of Enola. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter "Harvey" Meck and a sister, Thelma "Sissy" Fickes.
Funeral sevices were held at the Musselman Funeral Home with Rev. David A. Watkins officiating. Burial with full Military Honors was at Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill.
