Harriett Shirley Glickstein died January 18, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Louis and Rae Newhouse.

Predeceased by her adoring husband Barney, she is survived by her loving and beloved children Rabbi Gary (Joanie) Glickstein, Hillary (Phil) Mendelson, and Paula Glickstein; her adored grandchildren Bill (Erika), Avi (Stacey), Sarah (Frank), Jesse (Amanda), Joshua, and Alyssa; the bonus lights of her life, her great-grandchildren Shayna, Mitchell, Elijah, Leah, Mia, and Livia; and her brother Shelby Zale (Christa) Newhouse; as well as numerous other family members and many friends, both new and of long standing.

Harriett will be remembered as a strong, independent, loving, generous, honest, and fair woman who was unconditionally proud of her family and had clear values and opinions.

The family wants to extend special thanks to Drs. Andrew Schroeder and Robert Siegel for their extraordinarily compassionate care of Harriett throughout the past year and to the staff of the Saperstein Critical Care ICU for their professionalism and tremendous compassion for her and the family during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary, 6001 West Centinela Avenue, Culver City.
