Phyllis was born February 13, 1925 in Menomonie WI to Henry and Ella (Manning) DeLong. On July 26, 1941 she married Wallace H. Larson at Colfax Lutheran Church; they were happily married for 63 years. Keeping a promise she made to her father she was a 1967 graduate of Colfax High School. During her life Phyllis worked at a number of different places including Presto, the Canning Plant in Bloomer, and her mothers restaurant in Downing, but her first priority was her family. She was very proud of the fact that she had 2 sets of 5 generations.
She was a member of Ladies Aide, the Colfax Homemakers Club and volunteered at the Hospital in Menomonie and the Red Cross.
Survivors include three sons, Dick (Laurel) of Eau Claire, Tom (Mary) of Colfax, Joe (Sydney) of Texas, and one daughter Violet Jarvis of Colfax. One brother, Clifford DeLong of Knapp. 13 grandchildren; 35 great-granchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2004; one granddaughter, Cindy Ronnander; a sister Mabel; one daughter-in-law; one son-in-law; one brother in-law; and two sisters-in-law.
Memorial services for Phyllis will be Saturday January 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Sampson Funeral Home, with burial at a later late in North Running Vallley Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to services on Saturday.
