James Howard Templon,80, of Shenandoah died Thursday at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, where he had been admitted after suffering an apparent heart attack earlier in the day.
Mr. Templon was born June 9, 1898 in Page County and was a son of the later James S and Hettie May Templon.
He was a retired engineer for Norfolk and Western Railroad. His wife, the former Lelia R Williamson, died in May 1977.
Surviving are a son, James J Templon, of Fort Lauderdale,
Fla.; four daughters, June Rexrode and Julia May Huff of Shenandoah; Jean Rinaca of Baltimore, Md. and Shirley Kite of Wolftown; four brothers, Charles, Wilbur and Norman Templon, all of Shenandoah, and Frank Templon of Hagerstown, Md; two sisters, Virginia Claytor of Shenandoah and Julia Williamson of Hagerstown; thirteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens near Harrisonburg by the Rev. Jerry McGlone.
The body is at the Warren G Kyger Funeral Home in Shenandoah, but the family will receive friends at 113 N Second St, Shenandoah.
