" Mrs. Leona E. Smith, 91, of 1000 University Drive Schuylkill Haven, formerly McKeansburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at Rest Haven Nursing Home, North Manheim, PA.
Mrs. Smith was born in Hamburg, Pa., on Sept. 1, 1920, the daughter of the late Oscar E. and Mamie M. (Schaeffer) Clay.
She was the widow of Raymond W. Smith.
She worked as a Machine Operator at the former Leiningers Factory in Orwigsburg, Pa., until 1972, then she went on to work at the Blue Mountain Elementary School Cafeteria until she retired in 1982.
Orwigsburg High School graduate, Class of 1938; she was a choir member for many years; a Sunday school teacher; a member of the Church Guild; and the New Ringgold Fire Co.; and also the Orwigsburg Senior Citizens.
She was a member of Christ Church, McKeansburg, PA.
Surviving are a son, Paul R., husband of Jean L. Smith of Blandon, PA; daughters, Jean M., wife of Thomas Strause, of New Ringgold, PA, and Diane L. Lupo of Orwigsburg, PA; sisters: Doris P., widow of Lloyd Grube, of New Ringgold, PA, Ruth, widow of Robert Breon, of Port Clinton, PA, and Marion, widow of Leon Reager, of Schuylkill Haven, PA; sister-in-law, Mary, widow of Harold Clay, of Hamburg, PA; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers Claude and Harold Clay.
Religious Services will be held at Christ Church, McKeansburg, PA, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, with Rev. Sunny L. Stock officiating. Family and friends are invited to call Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the Church.
Interment Services will be held in Christ Union Cemetery, McKeansburg.
